Halloween... Never Too Late

These are pictures from our recent (okay... a couple of weeks ago) 1st annual Harvey Family Halloween Party. Costumes were strongly encouraged, though not required, and fun was had by all. We carved pumpkins -- first ones for the grandbabies -- had a delicious soup for dinner, and laughed lots.

Experimenting

Okay... I decided to create my own background/layout. It's always a work in progress, but for now... I like this. Thoughts? Comments?

FHE

Made the trip to Kaysville last night for the monthly Family Home Evening - thanks Butch and Kristin!

Had a good time and caught up on some of the news that I wasn't aware of. Thanks to a GOOGLE search for the Leyba's blog, I was able to find a lot of the rest of you, and have now added your blog links here.

I keep thinking I want to keep this blog up to date more, but we'll see what happens, since "the road to hell is paved with good intentions."

Thanks for the jokes (Wayne), the goodies (Kristin), the lesson (Bells), the noise (uh... pretty much everyone contributed there), and the sauna (Deb controlled the heat on the way home).

Send Chelsey a note (jbstowers@yahoo.com) to get her to invite you as a viewer of her blog.

I'll try to post some pictures of our recent halloween party later.

Single Parenting

I'm a single parent this week with Deb at the NRPA (National Recreation and Parks) conference in Baltimore. She did send these pictures though from her phone...

With the recent playoff loss by our little league football team last Saturday (the first time in 5 years that we've exited the playoffs early), I now have the time on my hands to manage this... and maybe get the rest of that yard work done that is screaming at me as the weather turns cold and wet.

I've gotta add that we're loving the blogs and the grandkids. They get more and more fun each time we see them.

It's been a very long time!

So, sorry to everyone who enjoys reading this blog. It has been a very long time since I have posted anything. Of course, it has also been a very long time since anybody from my family has posted anything.

For those that didn't know, about 1 1/2 months ago, we were concerned that Damian wasn't crawling or walking yet and our doctor suggested that we go see a physical therapist. Well, we went and found out that Damian had what is called tactile sensitivity. He is very sensitive to touch, and he basically didn't like the way that things felt on his legs and feet so he would avoid putting them down, wouldn't stand up, and wouldn't attempt to crawl. The physical therapist recognized it almost immediately when working with Damian, and gave us some exercises to do to help him get over or used to his tactile sensitivity. He has since then learned to crawl, and now he is going all over the place, just as quick as he can get there. It is actually quite fun to watch. He has also in this past week started standing up against furniture, in his crib, and against everything else he can. He also has this week learned how to crawl up stairs, and we have also had our first falling off of the stairs. Oh boy, does he have a good bruise on his forehead now!

Here is a picture of Damian, the day that he fell off the first stair. He had a huge goose egg and now its turned into a wonderful bruise.

We've decided that Damian is going to be Yoda for halloween. This is a preview of him in his costume.

Just another cute picture of Damian sitting with daddy on the couch.

Here is a picture of Damian with daddy on the front step. We love the cheezer smile he has in this picture.

Yet another one of Damian and daddy on the couch. I love his shy smile in this picture.

Damian's First Baseball Game!

Damian and Daddy went to his first baseball game this past weekend, down in Salt Lake City. Here are just a few pictures of that game. We had a lot of fun. He would stand on my lap, clap, cheer, clap, cheer, stare, clap, cheer, etc... It was a lot of fun!

JT in SLC

It's been a long time but I thought I'd post a quick note. Deb and I went to the James Taylor concert in SLC last night. I know these pics aren't the best -- taken with a cell phone after all -- but they're all I've got. She keeps telling people we're crossing things off our "bucket" list.

Damian's Acrobatic Sleeping Skills

Here is just a little video of Damian, showing his acrobatic sleeping skills. I came home with him from church, set him down on the floor to go change and make him a bottle, came back and this is how I found him. I guess it is just more proof that he's going to by a gymnast. ~Drew

Saturday's Pool Party & More...

Well, this past Saturday we had a family party at the pool. It was a blast! We took some shots of Damain at the pool (and we've also included some others) that we'd like to share with everyone. I really enjoyed them, and they are uber-cute! So here you go....

More Damian Pictures

Alright, seeing as I feel like no one is posting anything anymore, I thought I'd go ahead and post some more random pictures that were taken recently.

This is one of Damian, in black and white, that I thought was really cute. He was just sitting on our computer desk one Sunday morning and just smiling and playing with Brynn. This is one of my new favorite pictures, and I have it set as my desktop background now.

This is a picture of Damian and Trevan when they were hanging out this past week. Uncle Chris also came by to hang out, and decided to show off his scooter to the kids. As you can see from the picture neither really liked it.

Here is a picture of Damain just cuddling with dad one evening. He is so attached to his blanket right now that everytime he sees it he reaches out for it pulls it close, and the thumb instantly goes into the mouth.

Just another one of dad and Damian sitting on the floor while Damian smiles at mom.

Damian Has Learned How To Slide..

Well, everyone is in for a treat today. Damian has discovered how to slide down a slide and support himself all the way down. We discovered this when we went to the park on Saturday for a picnic and decided to go play on the playground. These videos were taken the following Monday (or today) when we tried to go and record him sliding. They really didn't work out extremely well as he did about 100 times better on Saturday, but at the same time they are kind of fun. So, here you go. Enjoy!

Damian's Baby Animal Day

Hello everyone! It seems like it has been a long time since we've posted something (like 2 weeks), so we thought we'd go ahead and post some new pictures. These were taken when Brynn took Damian to the Baby Animal Day down at the American West Heritage Center. Damian loved it!

Here is the first picture from Baby Animal Day. This is Damian as he got onto a pony. The guy who was helping with the event decided that he needed to wear a hat as he was on the pony.

Here is another picture of Damian touching a goat. Damian was fascinated with this goat's ears. You all have seen him flick his hand open and closed, and he did this for a little while to this goat's ears. He loved it.

Here is a picture of Damian playing with a rabbit. We have a lot of pictures with this rabbit, and he was flat out fascinated by it.

Well that's all for now. Hopefully it won't be so long before our next post! See ya!

Turn the Monster Loose!

We knew it was only a matter of time before it happened. It has progressed from sitting up to rolling over, the makeshift 'army crawl' (rolling side to side and pushing with one leg to get closer), to a full-out crawl. Little FART! BTW... can anyone guess what Chelsey had for lunch? What's on that plate?

Of course, it appears he'll soon develop a serious Mt. Dew habit like his father.

Fun stuff. [posted by Dad]

Pictures of Damian!

Hi everyone, we thought we'd go ahead and put up some more pictures from our home. We have taken quite a few pictures recently, and some of them were pretty cute, so here you go.

Also, another side note. Damain is getting his third tooth in. It just started coming in yesterday!

This is a picture of Damian in one of our suitcases getting ready to go on a little vacation.

This is a picture of Damian in his little Adidas visor. He's excited to wear this visor on our family trip to Moab.

This is a picture of Damian in his brand new booster seat. He likes to site with us when we eat, and demands that he eat what we are eating. He does quite a job at letting us know when he wants to eat more with all of the grunting he does.

Here is just another picture of Damain being cute! :0)

Skylar's Mug!

Well, Skylar came over to my house tonight to get some help on an HTML assignment for one of his classes and it required a photo. He may shoot me for posting this, but I thought it was great. So enjoy.[Note to Skylar: if you don't want this up, I can delete this post!]
